Dear Shorefield Country Park Ambassadors,

Mark Hatchett, Estates Manager

Discover Lymington Sea Water Baths

Just a short journey from Shorefield Country Park, Lymington Sea Water Baths is a true local gem—and the perfect recommendation for guests looking to make the most of their stay.

Set right on the edge of the Solent, this unique outdoor seawater pool combines heritage charm with modern family fun. Guests can enjoy stunning coastal views, safe swimming conditions, and a wide range of activities for all ages.

Families will love:

  • Fun inflatables and obstacle courses

  • Dedicated paddling and splash areas

  • A safe, enclosed seawater swimming environment

It’s the ideal place to cool off, relax, and enjoy the fresh sea air after exploring the New Forest.

Whether your guests are planning a morning swim, an active afternoon, or a laid-back coastal experience, Lymington Sea Water Baths is a must-visit attraction nearby.

A Brief Look at Its Heritage

Seawater bathing in Lymington dates back to the late 18th century, when sea bathing was widely valued for its health benefits. Early bathhouses such as Mrs Beeston’s Baths and Legge’s Baths were popular local landmarks, with visitors travelling specifically for restorative sea bathing experiences.

By the early 19th century, Lymington was already known for its proximity to the sea and the perceived health benefits of its waters.

Today

Now Grade II listed, the site has been carefully preserved and modernised for future generations. Alongside its historic charm, it now offers paddleboarding, hot tubs, and one of the South Coast’s largest inflatable water obstacle courses.

The venue also caters for private hire, including parties, corporate events, and charity days for groups of up to 400 guests.

Enquiries can be made directly through the site’s booking channels.  https://www.lymingtonseawaterbaths.org.uk/
