Dear Shorefield Holidays Ambassadors,

🏡 Keep Your Holiday Home Happy: Simple Seasonal Checks

A little regular maintenance can go a long way in keeping your holiday home in great condition and helping to prevent unexpected problems. Our Estates Team has shared some simple checks to help you protect your holiday home and avoid costly repairs.

🚰 CHECK FOR LEAKS

✔ Check under sinks and around toilets for signs of leaks

✔ Look out for damp patches, mould or unusual smells

✔ Report any issues as soon as possible to prevent further damage

🌬️ KEEP THE AIR FLOWING

✔ Keep external vents clear of leaves and debris

✔ Make sure internal air vents aren't blocked

✔ Leave cupboard and wardrobe doors slightly open when you're away to encourage air circulation

🔥 TEST YOUR ALARMS

The Estates Team says: "Safety starts with a simple test."

✔ Test your smoke alarms monthly

✔ Test your carbon monoxide alarms in line with the manufacturer's instructions

✔ Replace batteries when needed and report any faulty alarms promptly

❄️ GET READY FOR COLDER WEATHER

The Estates Team says: "A little preparation goes a long way."

✔ During cold spells, follow your holiday home's heating and winter maintenance guidance

✔ Make sure you know where your water isolation valve is located in case of an emergency

✔ Check for draughts around doors and windows

Taking a few minutes to carry out these simple checks can help keep your holiday home safe, comfortable and ready to enjoy all year round.
