Our family-friendly woodland holiday park is set on the edge of the Hurn & Avon Forest, with plenty of open spaces.
The park is ideally located on the eastern edge of Dorset and set in 55 landscaped acres bordering unspoilt river meadows and woodlands.
The Hurn Forest provides a stunning woodland backdrop with access to scenic pet-friendly walks just waiting to be explored. Plus, the golden sandy beaches of beautiful Bournemouth and Poole or the rolling landscapes of the Dorset countryside are right on your doorstep.
With miles of woodland walks directly accessible from the park, loose yourself in a leafy landscape and feel a million miles away. If you’re looking to venture further, Dorset’s sandy beaches are close by.

Packed with everything you could need to make your holiday memorable and enjoyable, Oakdene Forest Park has a range of on-site facilities so you don't have to venture far.
The indoor pool, complete with flume, features a sauna & steam room for you to truly unwind whilst on holiday. There is also a fully-equipped gym with a wide variety of equipment available (please note, induction fees apply), including free weights, resistance machines, running and cycling machines.
The heated outdoor pool is open everyday from the 25th May until 1st September, 10:00am - 6pm (weather dependent) and has plenty of poolside sun loungers to help you relax under the South Coast sun. It is typically open from the end of May until the beginning of September each year.
During the school holidays and the peak season, our lifeguards will admit entry via a band system for each hour swimming slot.
After a day out making the most of the gorgeous local scenery and open spaces, put your feet up with our food delivery service from our restaurant or enjoy a refreshing drink with our outdoor dining.
The Acorn Bar has an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, featuring delicious locally sourced products whenever possible. There is also our fabulous Sunday Lunch Menu and dedicated 'Pooch Menu' for all our four legged guests. When the sun is shining enjoy a refreshing beverage or bite to eat in on our Terrace.
The Acorn Bar also features Sky Sports & BT Sport to keep you updated on all the games that matter. There is also a pet-friendly indoor seating area* as well as a stylish decked outdoor seating area, both of which are perfect for enjoying a meal with your canine companion.

Woof's Workshop features our Slime School, Sand Art and Pottery Painting. Activities can even be booked in advance, ready for your stay! Complimentary Wi-Fi is available around the parks and inside your accommodation at Swanage Coastal Park, Oakdene Forest Park*, Shorefield Country Park (including Downton Holiday Park), Merley Court Holiday Park and Forest Edge Holiday Park. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available throughout the main facility buildings across these parks.
There is limited Wi-Fi at Lytton Lawn.
Please be aware that the Wi-Fi service is suitable for light browsing and checking emails, but during peak times may be limited. Streaming/gaming/video conferencing is not guaranteed.
Unfortunately, mobile phone reception and network is dependent on your mobile phone provider and therefore is out of our control. Mobile phone reception in the New Forest area can sometimes be patchy on some networks but is generally improving over time. There is usually no problem at Swanage Coastal Park or Merley Court Holiday Park.
What are your check-in and check-out times for self-catering accommodation?
Check-in will vary depending on the accommodation you have booked.
All our Signature lodges, Treehouses, Lavender House, Wisteria House and Honeysuckle Cottage have check-in from 2pm
All other lodges (Select, Select +, Superior and Superior +) plus The Burrow, Tudor Rose House and Sublime Hot Tub Caravanshave check-in from 3pm
All remaining accommodation (Forest, Supreme, Serene, Sensation, Seaside and Statement Caravans) have check-in from 4pm
Check-out is by 10am on the day of departure. Note: Sunday departures for two night breaks are by 7pm.
You are welcome to arrive earlier and make use of any of the parks facilities, but please do not head to your accommodation until you have received your text confirming that it is all ready for you.
When does the outdoor swimming pool open?
The outdoor pools across all our parks open from Saturday 25th May 2024 and their opening is subject to park specific opening times and is weather dependent.
We have outdoor swimming pools at Shorefield Country Park, Oakdene Forest Park and Wilksworth Caravan Park. To check specific opening times for a particular park, please give the park's reception a call.
At Shorefield Country Park, we allow entry to 15 people every 15 minutes for a 1 hour swim session. The last hour swim session is 4:45 – 5:45, with last entry at 5:00pm for a 45 minute session.
Please make sure that you have park passes or individual QR codes ready to be shown on entry.
Is any of the accommodation adapted for disabled guests?
Yes, have a specifically adapted three-bedroom Select Lodge at Shorefield Country Park, as well as wheelchair-accessible Serene Caravans at both Oakdene and Shorefield Country Park. To find out more please see our accessible accommodation page and access statement.
Some of our other units are suitable for those with limited mobility. Whilst not specifically adapted for wheelchair users, our treehouses are accessed via a sloping timber walkway and have one downstairs bedroom (the other two bedrooms in Silvertree and Coppertree are located upstairs), making them suitable for those with reduced mobility. As our treehouses have not been specifically designed to cater for wheelchair users, they may not be suitable for those looking for fully accessible accommodation.

Had an amazing mid-week break here with my daughter. Accommodation spotless and comfortable. Had lots of fun indoor and outdoor pool. The entertainment was great and the staff brilliant. Will miss seeing you guys every night but we will hopefully see you again soon.

Wonderful peaceful place in middle of New Forest. Everywhere is so clean and tidy . The staff are all friendly and welcoming. There are some lovely walks in the forest. The whole place is very dog-friendly.

This place is just amazing. I've been here multiple times, in the lodges and caravans, and they are just spectacular. It's extremely scenic and they have good services and staff here. From its amazing accommodation to the friendly and helpful staff, I would rate this place higher if I could.

Polite and welcoming
Our first visit to Oakdene and we weren't disappointed. The caravan was clean, spacious and well equipped. We ate once in the restaurant and the meal was very nice.
All the staff were very polite and welcoming. The entertainment team worked hard and we thought the singing was excellent!
