Adulting in Style: Stay with Shorefield for a Grown-Up Getaway

Whilst we pride ourselves on fantastic family holidays at Shorefield, we can also offer the perfect stay for adults too, whether booking a couple’s escape or a group getaway!

Whether your children are now grown up and have flown the nest, or you’ve got the chance to leave the kids at home with family for a few nights or you don’t have kids at all, there is plenty going on for adults when choosing a great value UK staycation at Shorefield.

Whether you’re an outdoorsy couple who would enjoy e-bikes and exploring the New Forest, a group of foodies who would delve into the cuisine at our fantastic coastal bars and restaurants, or if you simply want to relax, re-charge and read a book on a break away from the busyness of day to day life, we have it all for you!

See below for some of the incredible locations and accommodation options on our parks as well as some great activities to start planning an itinerary ahead of booking a stay with us.

Where to Stay:

We have accommodation to suit all different shapes and types of visits, whether taking a trip with the girls or going with your partner and friends.

Treehouses

Our two luxury treehouses are located on Shorefield Country Park in a private, gated area amongst magical woodland so you’re bound to receive the tranquillity you’re looking for. They are equipped with a hot tub on timber decking, an outdoor pizza oven, sun loungers and can sleep up to six guests: three couples, six gal pals or even to accommodate the lads on their golfing trip - you name it! Our ultimate treehouse stays are great for those wanting to stop and unplug. With such nice facilities you wouldn’t even need to leave you enclosed home from home, as we even have our new restaurant and entertainment development, The Beachcomber.

Privacy is shared with both treehouses (Coppertree House and Silvertree House) and The Shrubbery. In the summer months guests can bask in the warmth, glass of fizz in hand, chatting about memories with loved ones in the hot tub. In the cooler months, guests can tuck up together (still glass in hand) next to the log burner for a cosy night in, and the opportunity to play Scrabble or other board games without any tears from the kids.

The Shrubbery

The Shrubbery is perfect for a romantic escape with your partner. This is ideal accommodation to get away from the hustle and bustle of being back at home and get some time away from the laptop. Similar to the treehouses, The Shrubbery also has a hot tub, which you can relax in in the evening after a long day of exploring the coastal area with your significant other.

Shepherd’s Huts

Better yet, at Shorefield Holidays we also have our very own Shepherd’s Huts named, ‘Baa One’ and ‘Baa None’ and located on Wilksworth Park. These sleep two guests so by booking these it’s a great chance to get away with a friend or partner and experience glamping in style. The Shepherd’s Huts come with their own gas BBQ and chiminea so you can feel like kids again whilst roasting marshmallows on the fire. A stay in one of these premium huts is the perfect place to feel miles away from anything and get the feel of escapism you’ve been searching for.

The excitement doesn’t stop there - guests can use the stunning glass roof section above the pull-down wall bed to lay back and stargaze. It even feels extra cosy in autumn when it rains and the droplets of water tip tap on the roof, dribbling down the glass. It makes you feel extra warm inside the hut, especially when enjoying a fresh brew.

What to do:

Shake and Stir Vintage Music Festival

For guests into the older ‘stuff’, the Shake and Stir festival which takes place 22nd - 23rd June on Fisherman’s Walk in Southbourne, Bournemouth (just a 20 min drive from Shorefield Country Park), is full of the best 1920’s-1970’s music and fun! This festival appeals to a huge variety of vintage lovers and life-stylers. Rock n roll, Jive, funk and soul, it’s got it all!

Fisherman’s Walk becomes its own vintage village with delicious food and drink, vintage car and motorbike shows, fashion shows and more! It’s a great day out in a group or as a pair and you could even use the local taxi service if you’re wanting to enjoy a few of your favourite tipple.

Big Country Music Weekender

Taking place on 11th October at Oakdene Forest Park, the Big Country Music Weekender is a great activity for music lovers. This year we have a brilliant line up (see below for a teaser of who’s performing) including live bands, solo acts, tributes, DJs and country music.

  • The Ultimate Garth Brooks Band (UKs leading tribute)
  • Johnny Cash revisited (UK’s #1 Johnny cash tribute)
  • Shania (all the hits of Shania Twain)
  • Trey Jackson (Multi award winning singer including BCMA and CCN awards)
  • The Breeze (British country music band of the year 2023)
  • Kay ‘D’ (award winning British female country music artist)
  • Richard Palmer (Multi award winning country music singer)

Get your cowboy hat ready and enjoy your favourite tipple whilst getting stuck into plenty of line dancing, singing and yee hawing!

Local walking and exploring

There are endless walking routes and places to explore in and around the parks. If staying on Forest Edge Holiday Park then guests can traverse the ancient woodlands of Hurn Forest right beside them with towering oaks and beech trees. Wild ponies, deer, donkeys and even pigs can frequently cross your route, embodying the untamed spirit of the New Forest.

If visiting the beach is of more interest then Milford-On-Sea beach is right on the doorstep of Shorefield Country Park. Guests can take a 5 minute stroll to reach the panoramic views of the sea, merged with the ruggedness of ancient rock from the cliff faces. Picturesque towns and villages like New Milton, Lyme Regis and Swanage dot the coastline, inviting you to pause and enjoy fresh seafood or explore quaint shops and historic sites, including Hurst Castle in Lymington.

Hurst Castle

Not to forget there are also fantastic onsite facilities for example, tennis courts for the competitive couple as well as a gym if you can’t miss out on your routine. Forgot to buy milk? We’ve got you covered with our on site convenience store.

So, if you’re looking to book a stay then be assured that Shorefield provides a great holiday destination for those wanting to ‘adult in style’ and treat themselves to a grown up getaway whether relaxing, exploring, walking or partying.
