Proud to be family-run since 1958

The Shorefield Holidays Story

Great British Breaks Since 1958

Spanning three generations, Shorefield Holidays is proud to be a family-run enterprise. Shorefield Holidays has grown since its humble beginnings in 1958 and we are very proud to celebrate our 67th anniversary recently.

Family is at the core of the business while embracing all the needs of a high-quality family holiday in the 21st century. Ever since our founder, Dr Robert Pollock, bought a small caravan park next in a worked-out gravel pit on the south coast in 1958 - because he couldn't find anywhere to pitch his holiday caravan - we've never lost sight of why people choose to spend their precious downtime with Shorefield.

The gravel pit was transformed into Shorefield Country Park and now beyond to eight parks located across Hampshire and Dorset, each with their own USPs and appealing to varying markets and demographics, we are proud to be a growing, forward-thinking business for the 21st century.

Our mission hasn't changed, we are a market leader and expert in the great British holiday.

Innovative & forward-thinking

We are proud to invest millions of pounds across our parks and facilities to keep them at the forefront of the family holiday offering and there are a number of other exciting projects in the pipeline for the year ahead.

We are proud to be a growing business, each year enhancing our offering. It was a success story for local entrepreneurship for the first eighteen years and has steadily expanded since 1982 when neighbouring caravan park, Seabreeze, was purchased.

  • Lytton Lawn Touring Park was purchased in 1988 and eight years later Oakdene Forest Park was acquired.

  • Forest Edge Holiday Park was bought in 2001

  • In 2005 Priestway Holiday Park, later renamed as Swanage Coastal Park, was purchased.

  • Merley Court Holiday Park was added in 2006

  • New Forest Lodge Retreat, formerly Kelston Holiday Park was bought in 2017.

  • Wilksworth Caravan Park was purchased in 2018 as a fitting way to celebrate our 60th Anniversary.

  • Downton Holiday Park was acquired in 2021, expanding our flagship Milford on Sea park.

An award-winning business

Throughout our 60 years in business, we are extremely proud to have won a string of prestigious awards for excellence and continue to receive praise. Our multiple gold David Bellamy Conservation Awards highlight our dedication to the flora and fauna that reside on our parks.

The Very Best Escapes...

Happy holidays and the memories they create have been at the heart of our family-run business for over 65 years.

Our parks, in the most stunning locations in Dorset & Hampshire, have been homes-from-home for those escaping the everyday, looking to enjoy all that our amazing corner of the UK has to offer. Our ongoing investment and commitment to deliver the very best escapes has ensured that for many this has become a lifestyle choice, and the demand for our homes continues to grow.

“Our Chill Out Zone”

"Shorefield has been a major part of our life also of our four children who are now adults with families of their own. The grandchildren loved it when they were small but now as adults they are bringing our great grandchild to introduce them to the park. We have had amazing memories in our 23 years as owners and have watched the park grow in this time. This place is our chill out zone and we just love it and spend as much time as we can here."
