Dorset 

Swanage Folk Festival - Friday 11th – Sunday 13th September 2026 

A traditional folk festival featuring live music, dance displays, workshops, pub sessions and family activities throughout Swanage.   

Swanage Railway Autumn Steam Gala - Friday 11th – Sunday 13th September 2026 

Steam locomotives, heritage railway rides and special guest engines on one of Dorset's most scenic railways. 

Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival - Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th September 2026 

A popular food festival featuring local cheeses, cider, gin, artisan produce, crafts and family entertainment.  

Heritage Open Days - Friday 11th – Sunday 20th September 2026 

Historic buildings and attractions across Dorset opening free of charge, many of which are normally closed to the public.   

Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival - Friday 25th – Saturday 26th September 2026 

A free arts festival with large-scale installations, live performances, music and culture in Bournemouth town centre and seafront.  

Hampshire 

Southampton International Boat Show - Friday 18th – Sunday 27th September 2026 

The UK's largest boating and water sports festival. Features more than 500 boats, water sports, live entertainment, food and drink, demonstrations and marina displays.  

Goodwood Revival - Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September 2026 

Just over the Hampshire border at Goodwood. One of Britain's most famous motoring events, with historic racing, vintage fashion, aircraft displays and period entertainment.   

New Forest Autumn Days 

September is one of the best months to visit the New Forest, with forest walks, wildlife spotting, cycling and numerous local food and village events taking place across the area.  

There is so much on the doorstep of your holiday homes to keep all of the family entertained as we move towards the Autumn.
