Late summer and autumn are fantastic times to visit this beautiful part of the UK. With all the kids back to school, the skies still blue, and beaches deserted, there’s no better time for a short staycation. As the nights start to draw in, our forest parks are the perfect place to see the leaves change colour, creating a vibrant display of autumn colours everywhere you look.
The 'Indian summer' weather means that you can really enjoy a late summer holiday, this coast line is well known for its unseasonably high temperatures at this time of year.
Then as we edge towards October the New Forest and Hampshire and Dorset countryside in the autumn is an inspiring sight with the leaves changing colour almost daily, the forest comes alive as the fall leaves change with rich red, turning to orange and more golden hues, this spectacular autumn canopy makes it the perfect time to come explore the beautiful New Forest.
Halloween is fast becoming a major UK event the south coast is no exception, come and visit the Witches of Burley, if your dare, and don't forget to be here for Bonfire night with some of the UK's finest Firework displays on offer.

The summer sun is still strong in the sky, the sea is warm and the beaches are empty, with an 'Indian Summer' usually forecast, the warm weather often lasts well into October. The children are back at school and the area starts to return to a more peaceful way of life. September is the ideal time to enjoy the very best that a UK staycation has to offer. With so much to see and do along the coast, from the towns of Bournemouth and Poole, to the smaller, picturesque Dorset market towns and small quay side fishing town. The New Forest and countryside is also a hive of activity, with harvesting, farmers' markets and the fantastic New Forest walks: September is a truly wonderful time to visit.

Autumn is a beautiful time across the New Forest, the best conditions for the best fall colours is with sunny cool days and chilly nights, so once you've enjoyed the fall colours come back and relax in your private hot tub.
How about Pannage? Pannage is the practice of releasing pigs into the forest and dates back to the time of William the Conqueror. You can normally find the pigs roaming the forest floors from around the third week in September for 60 days, they are released to eat the acorns, as they fall from the trees as the acorns are harmful to the New Forest ponies.
