Christmas is a great time to get out and explore the scenic South Coast with your loved ones, weather you’re off to see some twinkling Christmas lights in Bournemouth or over indulging in a festive feast at one of our many local Christmas markets, with lots going on, there's plenty to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Christmas in Bournemouth
Bournemouth comes alive at Christmas with so many magical festive experiences. Take a trip through the iconic Christmas Tree Wonderland, with over 100 glittering trees and illuminations to light up your way, or get your skates on at the ice rink, before capping your festive day out with a wander through the famous Bournemouth Christmas Market and two-storey Alpine Lodge - the home of all your festive favourites like mulled wine and hot chocolate.
Swanage Railway – The Polar Express
Climb aboard the Polar Express at Swanage railway. Immerse yourself in this hour long train journey and get the festivities going with actors playing characters from the Polar Express film and book.
Wear your favourite winter pyjamas or Christmas cosies as you sip on a mug of hot chocolate and watch the magic unfold before your eyes – there’ll be all the characters you know and love, along with singing and dancing to get you and your family into the Christmas spirit. We’ve heard whispers of a very special festive visitor, too – with a sack of Polar Express themed gifts to give away.
Celebration of Christmas at Paultons Park
Christmas at Paultons is a special time of the year, experience the magic of Peppa Pig World decorated for Christmas including some spectacular illuminations with selected rides and attractions open across the park. Stay for Santa's Christmas Wish Show and catch a light show at the Musical Christmas Tree.
Festive Fun at Beaulieu
On the weekend of 9th & 10th December, ignite that Christmas spark in Palace House at Beaulieu, with stunning traditional decorations, crackling log fires and heart-warming carols to really boost that Christmas spirit. You might even catch a glimpse of Father Christmas himself as he swaps in his reindeer for a car from the motor museum ahead of the big day.
Poole Light Trail
From Saturday 25th November – Tuesday 2nd January, enter a world of Christmas at the Poole Christmas Maritime Light Trail, with this free Christmas attraction. Wrap up warm and prepare to be dazzled as thousands of twinkling lights take you on a nautical journey. Follow the nautical light trail through the vibrant highstreet and onto Poole Quay. Light installations this year include a galleon, walk-through lantern and bauble, as well as an anchor and a 13 meter illuminated tree in Falkland Square.
