October Half Term is one of our favourite times of year. As the leaves turn golden the stage is set for a fang-tastic array of Halloween events.

Pumpkin Picking

Cost: Varies (but definitely do-able for under a tenner!)

Ages: Any.


A traditional pastime that everyone enjoys, pumpkin picking is a must-do throughout autumn and Halloween. With plenty of 'Pick Your Own' farms throughout the New Forest and Dorset, this is a must-do for Halloween!

Some of our top 'picks' (see what we did there?) include the Cat and Fiddle Farm Shop near Christchurch (BH23 7DS) and Sopley Farm (BH23 7AZ).

Halloween at Paultons Park | 26th October - 3rd November

Cost: Discounted tickets available at our park receptions at £26 for anyone over 1m tall.

Ages: All welcome!


Halloween at Paultons Park is a fang-tastic day out for everyone. This half term the spooky shenanigans include Fancy Dress Competitions, Little Monsters' Ball and over 10,000 pumpkins! There's even late night opening on selected dates so you can enjoy the rides in the dark, The Legend of Paultons Manor spooky show, plus you can meet Peppa and George in their eerie outfits too.

Halloween at Exbury Gardens | 26th October - 1st November

Cost: From £10.50 for adults & £4 for children when you book online in advance.

Ages: Suitable for all!


Head down to Exbury Gardens for a frightfully good Halloween in the great outdoors. This year's activities include a haunted craft workshop, pumpkin carving, face painting and guest favourite the Exbury Ghost Train.

Halloween at Oakdene Forest Park | 26th - 31st October

As always, there's a fantastic Halloween entertainment programme at Oakdene Forest Park.


We'll have daily activities to get involved with throughout half term, but if you're looking for fang-tastic themed events these will be taking place on Saturday 26th and Thursday 31st October. Some of our top picks include:

  • Family Halloween Hunt - 26th October at 1pm or 31st October at 2pm
  • Family Pumpkin Carving - 31st October at 12 noon
  • Trick or Treating - 31st October at 5pm (meet at Reception)
  • Halloween Spooktacular Team Phantomime! - 26th & 31st October at 8.30pm

Halloween at Shorefield Country Park | 26th - 31st October

Of course, there's lots going on at Shorefield Country Park this Halloween too and the Entertainment Team always look forward to this time of year!


Spooky-themed activities take place on Saturday 26th and Thursday 31st October and the highlights include:

  • Family Pumpkin Carving - 26th October at 1pm
  • Kids Fancy Dress Competition - 31st October at 12 noon
  • Werewolf Hunt - 31st October at 1pm
  • Adult Fancy Dress & Best Dressed Table - 26th October at 9.15pm and 31st October at 10pm
  • Halloween Phantomime! - 26th October at 10pm and 31st October at 9.15pm

Halloween at Lytton Lawn Touring Park | 26th October

Every year the Halloween festivities at Lytton Lawn are a highlight in our calendars. Join us on park at 6pm for Fancy Dress Competitions as well as trick or treating around the park. We'll also be hosting a 'Best Decorated Unit' competition, with the winner receiving a free stay next Halloween!


Did you know? This year's pumpkins at Shorefield Country Park have been grown by our very own Finance Director! There was even a bit of a competition between our Finance Director, Head Gardener and Estates Manager to see who could grow the biggest one! Be sure to head down to the Showbar at 1pm on the 26th October to see our home-grown pumpkins and carve your own to take home!
