A look back on 2023 at Shorefield. What a year it’s been!

This year, we have welcomed over 80,000 guests to our parks, as well as thousands of furry friends who also enjoyed a little holiday break with their owners, avoiding the kennels. Hosting that many guests stacks up to be a huge amount of hot tub dips, swimming pool trips, chill outs on the verandas, lifting those weights in our gym for the more active visitors and plenty of big smiles, kicking back and enjoying someone else doing the cooking.

As part of our ongoing mission to provide the best holiday and break from the norm for all of our customers and owners, it’s been a big year of investing in Shorefield Country Park. This development has been twofold: firstly there’s been our refurb to our onsite facilities with a brand new complex, The Beachcomber, the entertainment facilities and its calendar of events. Secondly for those looking to invest in a premium property on park with a home from home feel, we launched the prestigious Jubilee Gardens.

Let’s start with a look at The Beachcomber with robot waiters and even a special area ‘pooch corner’ to dine with your fluffy friends.

Everyone’s welcome around the table

Serving delicious freshly prepared meals and an extensive variety of drinks, we opened our brand new 750 seat complex, The Beachcomber. Guests can relax and enjoy a family meal in a great atmosphere in the restaurant with entertainment just next door.

The adults and children alike have been marvelled at our state of the art robot waiters who literally bring your food and drinks to your table. We expect there’s a few Mums and Dads out there who have asked for one at home on their Christmas lists this year! The Beachcomber also houses Pooch’s Corner, welcoming furry friends to enjoy food from our very own pooch menu with dishes such as doggy roast dinner, beef burgers and ice cream for dessert - all fully certified with Woof’s paw of approval.

Home ownership with new horizons

As well as offering fantastic holidays, we’ve also launched our brand new ownership development, Jubilee Gardens.

Jubilee Gardens consists of 30 lodges, which include all furnishings and are beautifully finished, including integrated kitchen appliances and private decking, with the south facing position maximising sunlight exposure. Owners can also choose to personalise their plot with add ons, such as pergolas and smart outdoor kitchens for alfresco dining. We predict a rising interest in ownership and look forward to welcoming new customers in the new year.

Adventure awaits with the return of our Go Active+ programme

Beyond Shorefield Country Park, lies a whole load more of excitement and fun - this year we proudly announced the return of our Go Active+ programme at Oakdene Forest Park, making our activities more thrilling than ever before.

With a huge range of activities from crossbow to aeroball to body zorbing, we truly offer something for everyone! Our Go Active activities are open to guests at all of our parks and available and are a fantastic way to spend a morning or afternoon during your Shorefield stay.

We’ve introduced new activities such as ski scooters, aeroball and raft building to name a few - designed to suit all ages and all have trained instructors to assist with your experience of each one. This also means adults can take a break and relax whilst kids can enjoy fun-filled activities.

2023 is a special year in more ways than one but the hero moment is that 2023 marked a remarkable 65 years of Shorefield providing guests from near and far with extraordinary holiday memories.

We took a trip down memory lane to our humble beginnings as a small holiday park next to a dug out quarry pit, launched by Dr. Robert Pollock in 1958. Taking a look at the business today, we are a now thriving group of eight holiday parks, each offering something unique to visitors, with a plethora of unique accommodation. We are proud to be a family run business offering a vast range of services to visitors and local customers alike.

We now welcome more than 100,000 visitors per year for holidays, with more than 650 lodge and caravan owners enjoying the benefits of holiday home ownership boltholes in the South coast of England.

Giving back to the community. We raised a whopping £8,000 for Oakhaven Hospice

Giving back to our community and families at large has always been part of the Shorefield family business and it remains a core value to the family members still involved in the business every day. This is why we’re delighted to have supported a local charity in 2023, Oakhaven Hospice as our charity of the year. It has been a pleasure and a real drive for us to get out and fundraise as much as we can this year, for such a great cause.

Oakhaven Hospice is a pillar of our local community and very close to our hearts at Shorefield Holidays - with members of our team and their families, past and present, having been supported with palliative care, life limiting illnesses and all that it entails. It has been a pleasure and a real drive for us to get out and fundraise as much as we can this year, for such a great cause.

Through multiple activities like an Abseiling Challenge and several raffles, as well as the readiness of our staff and guests, we have managed to raise over £8,000! This has been a huge highlight for us, and are delighted to have been able to raise this for Oakhaven Hospice.

2023 - you have been an extremely busy year for Shorefield, full of firsts and major successes. It’s probably time to grab a mince pie to celebrate all this year’s achievements.
