Shorefield's 2022 Summer Festival Guide
Summer 2022 is just around the corner... We've all got lots of making up to do with everyone's last few years of plans halted due to the pandemic so let's get right to it, here's our top recommended festivals and events across Dorset & Hampshire this summer!
27th - 29th May: Burley Food & Drink Festival
One to get you in the summer spirit early on in the year! Head to Burley Manor for an abundance of tastes, sounds and activities amongst plenty of food & drink stalls.
Burley is located just a short drive away from both Shorefield Country Park and Oakdene Forest Park in the middle of the forest, so make a day of it and head in to the forest to explore!
2nd - 5th June: The Queen's Platinum Jubilee
The whole country is set to get together to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this year. We're no exception here at Shorefield Holidays as we've got plenty of festivities planned here on parks to celebrate in style. From picnics and street parties to variety shows and party games you're in for a treat if you choose to stay with us for this momentous weekend! See what's on using our entertainment calendar.
2nd - 5th June: Christchurch Food Festival
An extra long extended festival over the long bank holiday weekend to celebrate all things food! Located on the side of Christchurch Quay in a picturesque location you can enjoy a bite to eat and watch live cooking classes and bands amongst many many food stalls. Plus you may even see us there as this years main sponsor of the event!
15th – 17th July: Lymington Seafood Festival
A decadent festival of delicacies, featuring around 300 different seafood specialities from around the coastlines of The New Forest. It’s usually a popular event and this lovely little Georgian market town was planned long before cars came to be – so it might be a good idea to plan your travel without a car.
Luckily, the X1 bus runs from just outside Shorefield Country Park to Lymington every half an hour, saving you the hassle of parking and navigating those tight cobbled streets! There’ll be top chefs, live music and best of all – it’s free to enter.
26th – 28th July: New Forest and Hampshire County Show
Get ready for this fun-filled family event! Over three days, The New Forest and Hampshire County Show gives you the chance to enjoy a celebration of agriculture and local produce. There’s shows, events, activities, shopping and, of course, plenty to eat.
It’s located at The Showground in Brockenhurst, a short trip from Shorefield Country Park, making it a great family day out. Get your tickets now – children get in for just £1!
28th - 31st July: Camp Bestival
One of the biggest and best festivals in the south, Camp Bestival has everything from comedians and kids activities to big name live acts. With this much variety on offer, everyone will have a good time!
The festival takes place on the grounds of Lulworth Castle, just a 30 minute drive from Swanage Coastal Park. Weekend and day tickets are still available – so why not make a family trip to Camp Bestival part of your Shorefield holiday?
13th – 14th Aug: New Forest Fairy Festival
Do you believe in fairies? Of course you do! And with good reason – there’s a whole festival devoted to fairies in The New Forest. Where else could this festival take place but Burley, home of the Forest Folk? Take walks, attend talks and hear songs by the fairies of the forest.
There’s so much wonder in store at this magical festival, including fancy dress with different themes on Saturday (Fairies and Tree Sprites) and Sunday (Unicorns and Dragons). Get your tickets online and beat queues on the day – like magic!
1st - 4th Sept: Bournemouth Air Festival
The UK's biggest air festival! Get down to the coast for some spectacular displays in the sky and on the ground. Featuring The Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon, Ultimate Warbirds and more!
