New Forest Show 2023
The New Forest and Hampshire County Show is a three day celebration of farming, food and fun in the heart of the New Forest National Park. Since the very first Show in 1920, the event has proudly grown to be listed in the top ten , attracting around 90,000 visitors to the beautiful New Forest across its 3 day duration.
The Canine Arena will have a daily timetable of doggy attractions and entertainment plus a fun dog show, it’s the ideal place for dog lovers to spend some time and perhaps win an award for your pawfect pooch. The New Forest Show starts on 25 July for three fun filled days!
With so much to see and do at the Show, why not take the opportunity to view the ring timetables to help plan your day. In addition to the Main Rings, sections across the Show have a variety of demonstrations and display taking place for you to enjoy.

Dog-friendly facilities at our parks
At Oakdene Forest Park our enclosed indoor seating area within the main complex is ideal for any dog owner. Complete with complimentary doggy snacks and water bowls, it makes the ideal place to unwind with your four-legged friend. Enjoy a refreshing drink or warm up with some good food - just order at the bar as usual!
When the sun is shining, The Terrace makes the ideal place to enjoy some delicious food or a thirst-quenching drink in the company of your canine companion, whilst soaking up some rays at the same time... That's if you can drag them away from the fantastic woodland walks through the Hurn Forest, just on the doorstep of your accommodation and accessible directly from the park!
Meanwhile at Shorefield Country Park dogs are welcome in the all new Pooch’s Corner and doggy deck, part of our multi-million pound refurbishment, where you can enjoy some delicious food and a refreshing drink in the company of your four-legged friend. Not only that, they can choose from their very own menu, fully certified with our mascots Woof’s paw of approval!
If camping in the great outdoors is more your thing, Wilkworth Caravan Park in Dorset and Lytton Lawn Touring Park in Milford on Sea have a dog exercise paddock or dog walking field, respectively.
Local dog-friendly beaches and events
The miles of scenic coastline and New Forest landscapes on your doorstep make the ideal place for ‘walkies’, but if you’re looking for something a little different there’s always plenty going on locally to get those tails wagging.
If your dog loves nothing more than a splash in the sea and feeling the sand between its paws, you're spoilt for choice with dog-friendly beaches throughout Dorset & the New Forest.
The following beaches allow dogs, making them the ideal place to visit during your stay:
Milford on Sea Beach - (Dog friendly all year round)
Bournemouth Beach - (Dogs can enjoy the beach freely from 01 October to the 30 April. Please note that dogs are restricted to certain areas from the 01 May and 30 September)
Sandbanks - (Dogs permitted on the Western end of the beach to Haven Point)
Swanage Beach - (Dogs can enjoy Swanage Beach from 01 October to the 30 April only. From the 01 May - 30 September pet owners are instead welcome to use 'Monkey Beach' which is located by the old stone quay, close to the pier).

Pet-friendly accommodation and pitches
Designated units across all our range of self-catering accommodation have pet-friendly options. So whether you're looking for a cosy caravan escape with your furry friend, or a luxury hot tub retreat, there's sure to be something to suit you and your pooch.
We also allow pets at all our campsites and touring parks, so if you'd prefer to be in the great outdoors you can choose from our range of camping and touring pitches across the South Coast.
Simply search for your ideal escape using our Holiday Search as usual and add your pet onto the booking so we know they're coming and there will be no extra cost! (Usually £9 per pet, per night in our self-catering accommodation and up to £3 per pet, pet night on our camping & touring pitches).
