2024 Charity Update
Giving back is an important part of what we do, and this year, we’ve been delighted to focus our efforts on fundraising for Oakhaven Hospice as our chosen charity.
It’s been a truly rewarding experience, bringing together our staff and guests to make a difference. With their enthusiasm and generosity, we’ve raised over £16,600 through various activities!
Alongside this, we’ve also supported other meaningful causes close to our hearts, showcasing the incredible spirit of everyone involved. Here’s a look at what we’ve achieved together…
Spinnaker Tower Abseiling Challenge
On 15th September, 11 daredevils from the Shorefield Holidays team, Alex, Caitlin, Chloe, Chris, Evelyn, Hanna, Hartley, Kerry, Lauren, Naomi, and Tanya (pictured below) took on the Spinnaker Tower abseil challenge in aid of Oakhaven Hospice.
Congratulations to all of you for completing the challenge and fantastic work raising money for such a worthy cause. Some of them even went on to take part in the skydive just a few weeks later! Read on to find out more…
“The Flying Squirrels” Tandem Skydive
17 of our daring team from Shorefield Country Park and Oakdene Forest Park took on a charity tandem skydive to boost this year’s charity pot even further, taking the plunge from 14,000ft in the air from a plane on 28th September, free falling for around 60 seconds at 135mph.
A massive thank you to all the Shorefield team, family members, friends, holiday home owners and holiday makers who kindly sponsored our flying squirrels, Caitlin, Chris, Courtney, Finley, Hanna, Hartley, Iain, Jordan, Kayleigh, Lisa, Maggie, Martin, Naomi, Nina, Sam, Sandy and Sophie (pictured below).
Between the Tandem Skydive and the Abseil Challenge, the team managed to raise over £6,200, an absolutely fantastic achievement! A massive well done to all!
Guests Optional £1 Holiday Booking Donation
We’re thrilled to announce that Gregory Smith is the winner of our 2024 Treehouse stay prize draw in aid of Oakhaven Hospice! All of our holiday guests have the chance to make an optional £1 donation when booking their stay. Each £1 donated at checkout earns guests an entry into our prize draw for a chance to win a short break for up to six people in one of our enchanting luxury treehouses at Shorefield Country Park.
This year, with your generosity, we raised an incredible:
£8,202 through Self-catering donations
£2,200 through Camping and Touring donations
That’s a total of £10,402 raised for an amazing cause! Thank you to all our guests for your support and good luck to everyone entering our tree house break for 2025.
Christmas Toy Appeal
Shorefield Holidays is delighted to continue supporting the Salvation Army's Christmas Toy Appeal. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our guests and team last year, we were able to brighten the holidays for families who might have otherwise gone without.
This year, we are thrilled to share that we’ve collected enough toys and gifts to provide Christmas presents for 48 families in need. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated this year to help make someone’s Christmas truly special.
Once again, a huge well done to everyone who took part, raised funds and donated to our charity appeals this year. Go Shorefields!
