Why Shorefield Country Park?
We’d like to share with you a brief insight into the origins of the name "Shorefield."
The name Shorefield Country Park traces back to its founder, Dr. Robert Pollock, who established the park in 1958. When Dr. Pollock struggled to find a suitable touring pitch for his family's caravan holiday, he decided to create his own solution—purchasing a small, disused gravel pit near Milford on Sea. He transformed the site into a welcoming holiday park and named it "Shorefield" to capture the essence of its coastal setting and natural surroundings.
Dr. Pollock, a General Practitioner from Bedford, initially managed the park as a side venture while continuing his medical career. After retiring in 1976, he moved to Milford on Sea and dedicated himself fully to the development of Shorefield Country Park. Under his leadership, the park expanded, and the business grew into Shorefield Holidays, which now operates multiple parks across Hampshire and Dorset.
