HR News

Dear Ambassadors,

Welcome to OUR Team News – your quarterly update on all things TEAM! This is our way of keeping you in the loop and celebrating the people and progress across our parks.

First, let me introduce myself – I’m Sue, the HR Manager, and I’ve had the pleasure of being part of the Company for just over 39 years. The rest of our HR team includes Kneilly, our HR Advisor, who recently joined us; Kim, our Training & Development Manager; and Jacqui, our Payroll Officer, who has also been with the business for over 20 years.

This month, we said farewell to Steve at Forest Edge, who retired after many dedicated years – we wish him all the best for the future. Dean has now moved to Wilksworth Holiday Park, following a few years as one of our resident wardens at Oakdene.

We’ve also welcomed several new permanent team members across our parks this year. Please do take a moment to say hello to any unfamiliar faces – it’s always great for teams and Ambassadors to connect.

Like many businesses, we’ve had to manage the added cost of the Apprenticeship Levy, which we’re required to pay monthly to HMRC, regardless of whether we have apprentices on the team. Rather than let this go to waste, we made the decision to reinvest it in developing our existing team and, in 2022, began recruiting apprentices into the business.

We’re proud to announce that this month, three of those apprentices successfully completed their qualifications:

  • Joe O’Brien – Level 3 Installation & Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship, and winner of the Most Improved Apprentice Award from B&P College.
  • Jordan Wicks – Level 3 Information Communications Technician: Support Technician Apprenticeship.
  • George Buck – Level 3 Gas Engineering Operative Apprenticeship.

A huge WELL DONE to them and to everyone who has completed their apprenticeships with us over the years!

We also love celebrating and supporting our local community. In July, I was honoured to present an award at Brockenhurst College’s Gala Awards Evening for Foundation and Inclusive Learning Student of the Year. We’re proud to support local education through donations like this and by offering work experience opportunities to students from nearby schools.

A big thank you to all the teams across the business who gave their time and shared their knowledge to support these students – it really does make a difference.

That’s it for now – our next update will be in December 2025.

Warm regards,
Sue
HR Manager
