Free Summer Events in Dorset
The summer holidays are here, and with that the Bournemouth and Poole area comes alive with free activities and events, we have put together a list of our favourite free events across the area this summer.
Bournemouth Friday Night Fireworks
Friday 9th, 16th, and 23rd August at Bournemouth Beach.
Be prepared to be dazzled by these much-loved beach Firework Displays every Friday of the summer holidays at 10pm. Kick off your weekend with a bang! Grab your camping chair, a picnic and find a perfect spot to set up along the beach.
Thursday 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th August at Poole Quay
Every Thursday of the summer holidays, there is a party on Poole Quay. Live music, entertainment and family fun provide a party atmosphere before finishing with a summer firework finale, over the largest natural harbour in Europe at 10pm!
Friday 9th – Sunday 11th August
Christchurch Carnival is a community event for everyone to come together and celebrate the summer! Raising money for local non-profit organisations and charities. Over the weekend, Christchurch Quay and Highstreet will come alive with festivities, there will be live music, a fun fair, fireworks and of course the carnival procession on Sunday. Poole Quay plays host to a unique, themed car event every Friday evening from 6pm – 9pm. Soak up the bustling, lively atmosphere and see a vast selection of popular car marques in the spotlight.

23rd August: Classic Minis & Minors Pre-2000
30th August: Surprise Finale
Thursday 29th – Saturday 31st August
Pack up your blankets and a picnic and get down to one of Bournemouth’s beach fronts to watch the world-class aerobatic displays with entertainment for all ages.
