English Tourism Week 2024
Lead by VisitEngland, English Tourism Week celebrates our diverse, exuberant and exciting tourism sector.
The week is a celebration of all things tourism, showcasing the quality and vibrancy of the visitor experiences and the value our industry brings to our nation, with this year’s theme ‘supporting tourism, the heart of our communities’, highlighting the visitor economy’s social, cultural and economic impact.’
Shorefield Holidays is a family run business of nine holiday and leisure parks based throughout Hampshire and Dorset, offering a vast range of services to visitors and local customers alike. The tourism sector within our localities reaches everyone, visitors, local residents and employees, as well as our local economy bringing thousands of people to the area.
Making up 80% of the UK’s visitor economy English tourism generates over £100 billion a year and is a major employer, supporting more than 2.6 million jobs nationwide, especially of school leavers and young people, this trend continues with English Tourism estimating that visitors in the UK will spend over £29.5 billion in 2023.
The Shorefield Group has over 2,000 pitches across its nine parks and more than 230 full-time employees – the majority of whom live within a 10-mile radius of each park and welcomes over 200,000 visitors to stay each year, including those that privately own, bringing valuable cross spend into surrounding local enterprises and businesses.
As our guests and holiday home owners evolve their holidaying habits, we must grow with them and stay at the forefront of our industry. With the exciting renovation plan for the outside area at Shorefield Country Park, featuring an outdoor splash zone with changing facilities, a multi-use games court, a ‘village green’ activity area and a nine-hole mini golf course, we can’t wait to create more amazing experiences with amazing people.
