Youre Welcome Shorefield English Tourism Week

You're Welcome!

English Tourism Week | Friday 18 - Sunday 27 March 2022. A week long celebration of events, showcasing the quality and vibrancy of the visitor experiences and the value the tourism industry brings to our nation.

Lead by VisitEngland, English Tourism Week celebrates the diverse, exciting and vibrant tourism sector. The week is a celebration of events showcasing the quality and vibrancy of the visitor experiences and the value our industry brings to our nation. Shorefield Holidays remains a family run business of nine holiday and leisure parks based throughout Hampshire and Dorset, offering a vast range of services to visitors and local customers alike. The tourism sector within our area touches everyone, visitors, local residents and employees and remains one of the few business sectors active in every part of the country.

The theme for this year's English Tourism Week is ‘You're Welcome’ to send the message that everyone working in tourism is ready and willing to welcome visitors back and are working hard to do so.

Making up 80% of the UK’s visitor economy, English tourism in 2019 generated over £100 billion a year and supported 2.6 million jobs and is a major employer of school leavers and young people, as well as an incubator for entrepreneurs and innovation.

The Shorefield Group itself has over 2,000 pitches across its nine parks and has just under 250 full-time employees – the majority of whom live within a 10-mile radius of each park and welcomes over 200,000 visitors to stay across their pitches each year, including those that privately own, bringing valuable cross spend into surrounding local enterprises and businesses.

With almost 100% occupancy since their opening, the development is at the pinnacle of the accommodation offering available at the park. Simon Pollock Chairman of Shorefield Holidays commented. 'I'm delighted that all of our local MPs recognise the vital role that Holiday Parks such as ours play in supporting the local economy and community'

‘You’re welcome’ to visit any of our parks for your next south coast escape and all the team look forward to making sure your Shorefield Holiday is one to remember.
