New Forest Show 2017 - Best of British

19th July 2017

Household-Cavalry

The New Forest Show returns next week on the 25th, 26th and 27th July and things are shaping up for this to be another classic year at the show. The New Forest Agricultural Show Society was founded in 1920 and the first New Forest and Hampshire County Show was held in 1921 as a small one day local event at Bartley Cross. Since then the show has come a long way and now the show is an annual three day event that will attract an average of 95,000 visitors each year.

Heavy-Horses

Show jumping is a popular aspect of the programme of events and international classes will take place across the show. All things equestrian will feature with top riders and horses from around the country attending the show so they can compete against one and other in their chosen discipline. Whilst on the subject of horses, the ‘Heavy Horse Musical Drive’ returns again this year. This is a breath taking display of horses moving in time to the music. The choreography sees the harnessed pairs criss-crossing, circling and moving in symmetry.

Jamie-Squibb

The main event in the ring is the talented Jamie Squibb who will be wowing the crowd with his acrobatic freestyle motorbike stunt display. Jamie and his team will be entertaining crowds in the main ring reaching heights in excess of 40ft whilst clearing a 60ft gap between one of the best transportable metal take-off and landing ramp systems in the UK. This demonstration will be on twice per day on all three days of the show.

Award-Winning-Sheep

Every day at three o’clock is the Grand Parade which is an assembled parade of the days winning livestock, significant winners are awarded their trophies and an excellent commentary accompanies the experience.

New-Forest-Strawberries

In addition to all of this there is so much that happens at the show with food and drink, family fun, flower shows, gardening shows, a food hall, shopping, local produce and lots more. There really will be something for everyone at the show and tickets are available here.
