Shorefield Holidays' Huge Focus on Raising Money for Charity

We're introducing new initiatives across all eight of our holiday parks, to help raise money for local and regional charities.

What are we doing to raise money?

Dress down days for Oakhaven Hospice

For one day only, in the last week of each month, our teams will be donning a more casual look – all in the name of charity!

For every member of staff that takes part, we’ll be collecting a £2 donation for Oakhaven Hospice. It might not seem like much, but with over 250 employees across our eight parks, if everyone took part we’d really make a difference to such a fantastic charity.

This month’s theme was ‘T-Shirt Tuesday’ which took place on Tuesday 25th July.

Our next non-uniform day will be taking place on Wednesday 31st July, so if you’re on park and fancy dropping by with any spare change for the cause, we’d gratefully receive any in our collection pots at reception or in our bars.

Pennies from Heaven for Macmillan

You know the saying “Look after the pennies… And the pounds look after themselves”? Well we very much believe so.

We’ve therefore introduced a ‘Pennies from Heaven’ initiative, which lets our employees choose whether they would like to donate the spare change from their monthly paycheck to Macmillan Cancer Support.

So, let’s say you’re paid £1234.56 each month. On payday 56p goes to charity and you keep the £1234.

The great thing is anyone can change their mind or opt-out at any time.

We already have 47 wonderful members of staff signed up, which has already seen a total of £69.39 raised and counting!

Are you one of our employees who’s not yet signed up, but want to be? Simply speak to the HR Team to find out more. We're also looking to introduce a way for our weekly paid employees to donate too.

These are just some of the many things we’ve recently introduced to support the local community and we’re working hard on increasing our Corporate Social Responsibility as a leading local business. We’ll have more updates and initiatives coming soon, such as our Beach Clean on Tuesday 23rd July, so keep your eyes peeled!
